Introduction
The National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) is a community service program under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. It aims to develop the personality and character of learners through voluntary community service. The motto of NSS “Not Me, But You” reflects the spirit of selfless service and social responsibility among youth. The NSS unit of the college works to build social consciousness, leadership qualities, and a sense of civic duty among learners through various outreach and extension activities.
Objectives
- 1. To understand the community in which learners work and identify its needs and problems.
- 2. To develop a sense of social and civic responsibility among learners.
- 3. To utilize learners’ knowledge and skills for practical community service.
- 4. To promote national integration and social harmony.
- 5. To foster leadership, teamwork, and personality development through service-oriented programs.
Outcomes
- 1. Enhanced social awareness and sense of responsibility among learners.
- 2. Development of leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- 3. Active participation of learners in community development and environmental sustainability.
- 4. Strengthened bond between the institution and local communities.
- 5. Formation of socially responsible and empathetic citizens contributing to nation-building.
